By all standards, since their February 2007 launch Main Street Cupcakes has had sweet success in its current Hudson, Ohio location. After much anticipation, the owners of this cupcake only Shoppe have decided to bring their long awaited second location to 19265 Detroit Rd. Rocky River, Ohio. Owner, Kimberly Martin says “We took a long time to make this decision. Over the past year, we nearly bought one building, and had a good feeling about another city, but it wasn’t until we saw spaces in Rocky River and started spending time in that community that we realized it had everything we were looking for to compliment our Hudson location. It’s clear on the other side of town so we are reaching more areas, it’s charming like Hudson, and we already have quite a few customers from the ‘River area.”
Celebrated for getting top honors in most reviews, Main Street Cupcakes has an ever rising list of flavors. Currently it’s up to 189, and they receive national accolades for this feat. Head Baker and co-owner, Sean Nock whimsically whips up freshly baked cupcakes daily to tantalize his patrons’ taste buds. You’ll see 15-20 different flavors a day in their case. Stop by early though: when they sell out, the doors shut! Pre-orders are welcomed and encouraged, and they also ship their cupcakes by the dozen across the Nation. Main Street Cupcakes can also be found on The Home Shopping Network. Their deliciously hip cupcakes have been called one of “America’s Best Cupcakes” by the Traveler edition of Forbes Magazine, and they tied for Best Cupcake in Cleveland Magazine’s 2009 “Best of Cleveland” edition.
The baking team channels inspiration for cupcake designs from everywhere: Oceanside vacations to favorites from their adolescence. The piest de résistance is their Signature Cupcake; Simply Main Street. “Simply Main Street is a culmination of our most perfected recipes, coupled with our customers’ favorites. Remarkably rich devil’s food chocolate cake, filled with our irresistible vanilla butter crème, topped with a generous portion of creamy frosting, and garnished with sugary nonpareils. Then it’s finished off with our signature “M” in diminutive pink tinted fondant which reflects the interior of our charming shop.” Main Street Cupcakes is promising a Rocky River cupcake as soon as they find out what the ‘River locals like best!
